My private tuition sessions are aimed at children aged between 4 – 6 years, covering a wide range of essential early reading skills such as phonics and comprehension development, depending on the specific needs of your child. There’s nothing quite like working on a 1:1 basis where they have my undivided attention to make accelerated progress with their reading confidence, fluency and understanding. No distractions from other children or waiting for their turn to read, just 100% focussed teaching time on them.
I also offer additional support for writing, which covers everything that your child needs to do to improve, such as pencil grip and control, letter formation, spellings or punctuated sentences. So whether they could benefit from extra help in reading, writing, or both, the extra tuition will really make a difference to their progress and confidence in Literacy.
Each Private Tuition session includes:
- 30 minute telephone appointment before the first session to discuss any issues or concerns about your child’s reading. It’s also a great opportunity to find out what interests they have so I can make the learning unique and exciting for them.
- Initial reading or writing assessment with your child to accurately assess their ability. This is very informal and done in a stress-free, play based way! I will analyse the results and make sure that the learning is geared to their exact needs. It will also act as a benchmark to help us to see how much super progress they are making along the way!
- 1 hour session, including games and activities to significantly improve their reading or writing skills
- Follow up 30 minute telephone appointment to discuss progress and next steps in learning.
